1. Who We Are

talkory.ai ("talkory," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website talkory.ai and the application at app.talkory.ai (collectively, the "Service"). We are a technology company providing a collective AI intelligence platform that allows users to query multiple large language models simultaneously and receive consensus-verified answers.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, talkory.ai acts as the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Service.

2. Data We Collect

We collect information in two ways: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically when you use the Service.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and a password (stored in hashed form). Optionally, you may provide your name.
  • Payment information: If you purchase credits, payment is processed by Stripe. talkory.ai does not receive or store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment card data. We receive a transaction confirmation and the last four digits of your card for display purposes only.
  • Query content: The prompts you submit to the Service are stored in your query history so you can review them later. See Section 5 regarding how prompts are transmitted to AI providers.
  • Communications: If you contact us via email or a support form, we retain the content of your message and your contact details.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, query counts, response times, and error logs.
  • Device and browser data: Browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and referring URL.
  • IP address: Used for rate limiting, fraud prevention, and approximate geographic location (country/region level only).
  • Cookies and similar technologies: See Section 8 for full details.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, and to communicate with you about it. Specifically:

  • To authenticate you and maintain your account session
  • To process queries and deliver consensus AI responses
  • To track credit balance and billing activity
  • To store your query history and allow you to review past results
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, payment receipts, password resets)
  • To monitor service performance, diagnose errors, and improve reliability
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive use of the Service
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following categories of parties and under these circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform, including:

  • Stripe: payment processing
  • Cloud infrastructure providers: hosting, database storage, and CDN delivery
  • Analytics providers: aggregated, anonymized usage analytics
  • Email delivery providers: transactional emails

All service providers are contractually bound to process data only as instructed and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your data if required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of talkory.ai, our users, or the public.

4.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our website prior to your data becoming subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Third-Party AI Model Providers

When you submit a query, your prompt is transmitted to the AI model providers you select, which may include OpenAI (GPT-5 Mini), Anthropic (Claude 4 Sonnet), Google (Gemini 2.5 Flash), Perplexity AI (Sonar Pro), and xAI (Grok 3 Mini). These providers process your prompt under their own terms of service and privacy policies.

Important considerations:

  • Do not include sensitive personal information (such as medical records, financial account numbers, or government IDs) in your prompts.
  • talkory.ai does not control how these providers store, process, or use query data on their end. Please review each provider's privacy policy before submitting sensitive content.
  • talkory.ai does not share your account information, email address, or payment data with AI model providers. Only the text of your prompt is transmitted.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and as necessary to provide the Service. Specifically:

  • Account data: Retained for the lifetime of your account. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Query history: Retained for your review unless you delete individual queries or your entire account. On the Free plan, query history is retained for 7 days.
  • Payment records: Retained for 7 years to comply with financial and tax regulations.
  • Server logs: Retained for 90 days for security and debugging purposes, then automatically deleted.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting ai@talkory.ai.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher
  • Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a unique salt
  • API keys for AI model providers are stored encrypted and never exposed in the client
  • Access to production databases is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Regular security audits and dependency vulnerability scans

While we take every reasonable precaution, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of a security vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to ai@talkory.ai.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

8.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These are required for the Service to function. They include session authentication tokens and CSRF protection tokens. You cannot opt out of these without logging out.

8.2 Functional Cookies

These remember your preferences (such as selected models or UI settings) to improve your experience. You can disable these in your browser without losing core functionality.

8.3 Analytics Cookies

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how users interact with the Service. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized. You can opt out of analytics tracking via your account settings or by using a browser extension.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not participate in cross-site tracking networks.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restriction: Request that we limit processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ai@talkory.ai. We will respond within 30 days. For EEA residents, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at ai@talkory.ai and we will delete it promptly.

11. International Data Transfers

talkory.ai operates globally and your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States. Where data is transferred from the EEA or UK to countries without an adequacy decision, we use standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and by posting a notice on the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

The date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last updated. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
